Native Instruments

First of all, they announce two offshoots of their much-hyped software sampler Kontakt: Intakt is a phrase sampler geared specifically towards use with rhythmic loops (aka “Beats”). It does automatic cutting up of beats into individual hits, which is pretty cool. Another Kontakt offshoot is Kompakt – a “lite” version of Kontakt, if you will.

Vokator is a vocoder that doubles up as a synthesizer, a granular sampler and as a “virtual sound-fusion laboratory”. Might be neat.

Finally, NI announce a major version upgrade for their modular softsynth Reaktor. V. 4 will include the “anti-aliasing” oscillators that made their debut in Pro-53, improved performance in a VST setting and a greatly overhauled user interface.
