I come to this donut place because it makes me feel at home. It’s their consistency that takes me home. The donuts are consistently fresh and they have the best cider donuts in the greater Detroit area, hands down. Tonight was special though. I brought my girls in for a little attitude adjustment because they were feeling down. John was the exact adjustment that my girls needed. Taking the extra few minutes to make sure my girls felt at home made all the difference. I will continue to drive farther to support this local business. I tip my hat to the superior service and second to none quality and taste. Looney Baker has a customer, or 4 including my girls, for life.

Looney Baker has become a Livonia institution. Opened in 1986. Best coffee and donuts in the city. Clean, conveniently located and priced right. Lots of variety. They’re known for their French Cruellers. They have a drive thru which is super convenient. Great morning stop before you get on the freeway.

Let me just say this, if I were on death row, my last meal would include Looney Baker donuts. Seriously, they are so great. I especially like the custard filled chocolate covered eclairs. OMG!!! The location is also convenient, adjacent to I-​96 at Farmington Road. If you’re in a hurry, or if the weather is challenging, the drive thru window is a real plus. Try Looney Bakers, they’re awesome!

Omg. I’ve been passing this bakery for the last few months and I decided on a whim to just stop by. It was 6 pm and the parking lot was still pretty full so I figured that this was a great sign. I was hit with a wave of sweet, heavenly smells. Ah! I ordered half a dozen — glazed blueberry, 2 glazed pumpkin spice (and you can definitely taste the spice), cinnamon sugar apple cider donut, a jelly filled donut, and a nutty one. I snuck a quarter of each one to try and was blown away by the amazing cake texture and sweetness of each bite. They were amazing!!! I am definitely coming back again.

Looney offers a variety of doughnuts, which are all well done and delicious. I split a dozen with a few people so I had the chance to taste a couple (+/​-​a couple more). My favorite one was the blueberry doughnut with blueberry jelly even though I’m not much of a jelly doughnut kinda guy. The nutty doughnut was dope too.
Lost a star bc despite the wide selection none of the doughnuts were too original or new. And bc walking down the hallway to get to the bathroom was treacherous.

I love everything from Looney. I dream about their doughnuts. Seriously.
I was reading some of the reviews and I got a little aggravated when people were upset that the donut they wanted was out of stock at 12am. If you go to Tim Horton’s at 12am they will probably be out of stock too. They make donuts around the clock here, and sometimes things sell out.
I love it here and will be a life long customer. Plus they make my coffee PERFECT. I have never had that happen anywhere else, not even at fancy coffee shops. The employees are always friendly and the atmosphere is wonderful.

I love the doughnuts here. Since moving to the area this has become our new donut place. The cinnamon donuts are incredible as are the chocolate frosting donuts. They have a drive thru which is nice. They also serve sandwiches if you choose not to eat a donut. All around, an awesome place to eat!

On my side of town we the Fritter Donut Shoppe… Livonia has the LB. I came to compare the fritter and got a few other treats to snack on while bouncing around town on marketing calls. I tried a jelly stick, a chocolate covered crueler, a sour cream glazed, their fritter, and a cup of coffee. The fritter was pretty awesome, I have to say. Crispy glazed edges and tender pieces of center, almost underdone, but filled cinnamon sugary goodness. The crueler and the sour cream glazed were pretty off the hook too. Sadly the coffee was kind of terrible… no taste, no depth and really weak but I’m hard on my coffee. The jelly stick doughnut itself was good but the filling tasted soapy… I don’t know how else to describe it.
Service was very friendly and quick ad while this might be my spot for fritters in Livonia I have other favorites for coffee and donuts.

I found out about this bakery 2 years ago and I’ve had many great moments picking out just the right donut which is very difficult since all their baked goods are awesome! Fresh & delicious every time I’ve gone there. I’d walk through a blizzard for their chocolate eclairs! Yeah they’re that good!

A person I knew received a «cake» that was made out of piled up Looney Baker’s cinnamon rolls, wish I had a picture to show you. That’s how you celebrate a birthday! I have never had a stale doughnut from this bakery. Also, if you go late enough at night, they give you what’s the most fresh and even sneak you some extra donuts that were from the «old» batch.
It’s a little bit of a drive for me, but the fresh donuts are worth it!

Apple fritters! Delicious. I cannot find a flaw with them at all. Mmmmm.
Nice place, friendly, clean and helpful. Decent coffee, good doughnuts, great fritters. Fresh stuff. My only bitch with the regular doughnuts is the occasional sparse frosting jobs. I am the girl who is annoyed if someone else got more toppings. Yes, it’s true, I will seethe if my husband grabs a doughnut that has nearly twice the frosting mine does. He does do this too. He is a frosting hog.
I need to try out these sandwiches… hmmm.

I’ve eaten more donuts this year due to this place than I have in at least 5 years combined. So fresh, so good. So easy to get to. Didn’t even have to get out of my car with the conceive of the drive thru window.
I tend to order a mixed dozen to bring to work but for some unknown reason the donuts never make it there and I’ve magically gained 10 lbs.

Looney Baker is a cute little place to get a quick lunch or a sweet treat.
Jacob and I have been here a few times and are quite smitten with their bagel sandwiches (assuming the bagels aren’t sold out by the time we get there). They’re about $ 5.50 and you get a huge stack of meat, a few slices of cheese on a homemade bagel. They have canned pop, juices and tea in their coolers to wash it all down, or you can order a cup of their coffee.
The baked goods are tasty. I’ve gotten their donuts and was impressed. Much more flavor than Tim Horton’s or DD.
Looney Baker doesn’t look like much from outside, but inside, you’ll be greeted by friendly staff and reasonable prices.
